Since 1987, The Center for the Women of New York helps women overcome financial, violence, social, wellness, and legal issues by raising awareness and advocating for full gender equality for women, understanding their needs, and connecting them with CWNY services, nonprofit partner organizations, and public resources to aid, uplift, and address their challenges.

After noticing her 12-year-old daughter had not been eating, resulting in her becoming increasingly thin, a mother realized she needed to take action for the sake of her daughter's well being. In this interview, we will hear from a mother as she discusses how she found medical intervention for her daughter. She will also discuss her daughter's long road to recovery from body dysmorphia and anorexia nervosa.  In addition, we will learn about another 12-year-old girl's bout with bulimia.
