Strength, Life as a Stunt Woman, What's Missing in Action: Michelle Elise Shock

California actress and stunt woman, Michelle Elise Shock, joins us to discuss strength, life as a stunt woman, and what’s missing in action/fight scenes from her perspective. .  

Originally from Florida, Michelle Elise Shock, is a stunt performer now residing in California. Her artistic roots are in classical acting, Shakespeare, musical theater, improv and sketch comedy. And an extensive background that includes water, horse, and motor sports, ranging from competitive surfing, SCUBA and free diving, to English, Western and horse archery, and dirt and street riding for both motorcycle and car.

Michelle is a core member of the Bay Area Stunt Team, and retains active membership in SAG AFTRA, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), and is currently completing her Rescue Diver certification. She spends her free time training between Los Angeles and San Francisco among some of the best in the business.

Michelle Midnight is an 18 year-old high school senior whose hobbies are reading, programming, which she has done since the age of twelve (12), and writing, since age nine. But this high school student has a pseudonym and her first novel, Society's Trial, is a YA psychological crime thriller.

Horror & Women: Linda D. Addison

Award-winning Horror Author & Poet, Linda D. Addison, joins us in National Poetry Month to discuss misconceptions of Horror, responsibility in writing, and the other side of being 'first'.  

Linda D. Addison is an award-winning author of four (4) collections, including How To Recognize A Demon Has Become Your Friend, and the first African-American recipient of the HWA (Horror Writer's Association) Bram Stoker Award®. And in 2018, the recipient of the HWA Lifetime Achievement Award. She has published over 300 poems, stories and articles and is a member of CITH, HWA, SFWA and SFPA. Addison co-edited Sycorax’s Daughters, an anthology of horror fiction & poetry by African-American women (publisher Cedar Grove Publishing) with Kinitra Brooks and Susana Morris, which was a HWA Bram Stoker finalist in the Anthology category.

She has published in many anthologies and magazine like: Essence Magazine, Asimov’s SF Magazine, and Apex Magazine, and is a founding member of the writer’s group Circles in the Hair (CITH) and a member of SFWA, HWA and SFPA.   Linda is also the Poetry Editor for Space & Time Magazine, and excited about April’s Double Issue containing 15 poems and a write-up by Angela Yuriko Smith, its new publisher/editor, dedicated to National Poetry Month.
