Vaya Con Dios Paul Walker and Roger Rodas. This episode we reflect on the 10 years since we lost Paul and Roger, my theory about Dante and Dom having the same mom, and more! I'm sure we'll learn more about the upcoming 'Hobbs' spinoff that will bridge 10 and 11, hopefully a teaser or premise will drop soon! I wonder if Luke will be killed off or put in a coma, but the latter would be too close to what happened in the aftermath of his fight with Deckard in Furious 7. I don't think he should sit out 11 and or 12.

Why would Cipher suddenly want to protect Dom and his family? Why did Jakob sacrifice himself when he could have simply fired the cannons at the oncoming enemy or arranged to hop in Dom's car? How did Dante and crew get those bombs on the dam so quickly, as they didn't know about Portugal until he steals the God's Eye? Why was Grandma Toretto introduced so late in the game, yet never seen again? Fate of Brian, Mia and their kids?

FAST X looks great on the big screen, but keep in mind those clips you see of the fights and action in the trailers and spots are the full scenes. While it's certainly another entertaining chapter, I picked it apart like I recently did The Fate of The Furious - and there's still some loose ends and creative decisions I wasn't sold on. What was Lin's original outline for the story, and its sequel?

With Tess being revealed to be Mr. Nobody's daughter, I hope this will help explain his fate during the events of F9 aboard the plane. Was he thrown out of the plane by Jakob or Cipher, held captive at the Hatfield House or elsewhere? I wonder if she'll turn on Dom at some point because obviously he has no idea where he is, nor did he question Jakob about his whereabouts. That or Dante or Cipher will convince her to turn and that Dom is behind his disappearance. So many possibilities!

Was improving some impressions and the hype around John Wick 4 inspired the Keanu audition for the villain in FF11 (was reported that Vin wants RDJ for the role), and I had written a Bill Burr bit about his role in Star Wars (Mandalorian) so that got me thinking what about this project too! And Sandler auditions... sort of (shabba-doo!)

Still bothers me how Dom outsmarted Cipher in Fate, the F9 trailers spoiling everything, will the Nobody-saga be wrapped up in 10 or 11? I talk about how I thought X was originally going to go down, with that Han & Deckard credits scene in F9. Different directors have their own visions, stories and ideas. There's alot to wrap up with X and 11, and I worry that if Lin doesn't step back in to the director's chair for the final installment- there may be some loose ends.

Theory #3 - Wanna bet that was Hobbs in the armored truck that Dante blows up? I'm sure we'll find out if he witnessed Hobbs killing Hernan Reyes or not. A simple takedown like this would lead me to believe that Dante thinks Dom & Brian killed his dad, which is why he's going after the whole team but getting even more personal by kidnapping little B. If this is not the case, I would hope to see Hobbs, Deckard & Han lead the charge in 11 by assembling some familiar faces and rescuing our remaining family.

Theory #2... Cipher pulls a Mission: Impossible on us. The "you gotta be kidding me" line from Letty could factor into this making sense. Cipher funds Dante's revenge, and insists that little Brian be taken again, and that Dom be put down for good. She infiltrates the fast family, and breaks them up on different missions and eventual ambushes. No team, no backup, simply revenge. Recent theory I had is that Tess is Cipher's daughter.

Theory #1 from yours truly. Dominic will suffer the same circumstances as Dante at the end of the movie, being left for dead in the water. I think he'll arrange for Tess to shoot him- activating the blood packs, and fall into the water. I think Dante throws Dom Jakob's bloody necklace, and is revealed that little Brian is still alive but remains hidden so that Dante can complete his revenge where it all started. Tess will pull a Riley (Furious 6) but really is helping Dom, so that in chapter 11 they can rescue Brian and get the rest of the crew out of the slammer.

The first official trailer and Superbowl Spot dropped earlier this month, and there's alot to cover. Lots more speculation, theories, and more! Louis and team definitely delivered on the trailer for Fast X. The connection to Fast Five leads me to think we will see Paul Walker's Brian return, plus I have an idea how to incorporate Vince into the plot. There's so much to go over, would love to hear from you!

The first official trailer (no teaser, not enough time with poor marketing schedule) drops on February 10th, along with a tv spot during the Superbowl on February 12th. The trailer will be around the 3-minute mark, and hopefully the tv spot shows different footage. FAST X hits US theaters on May 19th of this year, while the fate of 11 is up in the air, as it is set to release in February of 2024.

Still nothing to report, hence the gap between episodes. Still no teaser trailer, hopefully a teaser or full trailer during Superbowl (spot makes sense but after we've seen teaser or trailer #1). Will Deckard and Han go hand-to-hand, the fate of Owen, Momoa replacing Cipher as the main villain? Different directors have different ideas and choices. The true Fate of the Furious... we've seen some movies suffer due to lack of promotional material arriving very close to the theatrical run, hence The Hangover Part III and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

This isn't where roads part since J Lin is still on as producer... but for how long? These apparent slandering comments towards V Diesel- are they infact from Lin? Seems like Louis may be caught in the middle of some real drama as new director of Fast X! I still hope X is a slam dunk, we'll see how all this drama plays out.

Just days into production and Justin Lin has stepped down as director for Fast X, yet still remains on board as producer. I didn't consider an 'emergency' scenario since he's still a part of the project, but curious what 'creative differences' convinced him to step down but still be a part of the race?  

Would you like to see Wan or Gary Gray return to direct? Who knows what will change with X and XI, and if they will tie into the events of or even acknowledge F9. We'll see if it still makes its May 2023 theater date or not. I heard they're shooting 10 and 11 back-to-back! I also reflect on Lin's huge role and affect on the Fast franchise, from Tokyo Drift to The Fast Saga, plus how I feel about him stepping down.

Recent viewing of "The Fate of the Furious" had me look closer at how convenient everything was for Dom when it came to tricking Cipher, and having his own plan in place to win. Now that I think of it, when Deckard phones Dom in his charger about baby Brian- Cipher would have seen and heard that call!  

One segment I forgot to include was the fact that Queenie was able to arrive not only in that bar/restaurant but in NY- was she already there or overseas? Dom didn't know everywhere he was going way in advance, so how could Queenie Shaw get there so fast [no pun]. Let me know what you think!

Until we see the teaser trailer... I'm putting all my chips on her connection to Cipher. Maybe not revealed until end of X or XI but still a likely storyline for Brie Larson's character. What do you think?

Much like Hobbs and Deckard, we got a goofier Sean Boswell in The Fast Saga [F9]. I like that he, Twinkie and Earl had evolved but at the same time- at least have Sean test drive the rocket-car [without it exploding until he gets out]. Lin and Lucas coming back was a big deal, and yet a missed opportunity. I hope Sean has a lead role in X and XI, and has some major conflict with Han and the family.

This episode was recorded well before the official "Fast X" title was revealed. I still like mine better, I always liked the 'Tokyo Drift' and 'Fate of' additions. A 2-part finale deserves better. The photo of Cipher from Charlize's social media made me think this takes place at least a year after F9- but, Cipher changes her appearance while in hiding so who knows if that's her hair or a wig/extensions. So the timeline is still up in the air.  

I've talked about 10 being the civil war- started by Han after he kills Owen and or Deckard. But now I'm thinking that since everyone thinks Cipher is dead- she could wipe out players and make the others turn against eachother. Revealing herself to be at fault at the end, and leave our family with some seemingly impossible obstacle which transfers into F11.

The whole space mission just didn't blow us away. It was bad enough our returning Drifters weren't in cars but then the writers deciding that Rome & Tej had no choice but to travel to the outer space of Earth to disarm the weapon- when you know Tej and Ramsey could've figured out how to do so from the ground.   
And why have Roman tease their demise if not to honor it? Now I'm wondering if Cipher will wipe them out first... off screen. Maybe that's the misdirect- they survive the events of 9 but at the start of X Cipher has been very busy. I like that Leo & Santos have had cameos but I'd like to see them return to main roles like in Fast Five.

Seems like ETEON would have been a better fit to convincingly bring back Han. The Project Aries story arc, return of Cipher, and intro to Jakob in The Fast Saga has our kitchen overloaded with chefs! I hope Hobbs & Shaw 2 bridges Fast X and Fast Xl, and features an explosive re-entry by Agent Luke Hobbs because I think Cipher is gonna get the upper hand in X.   

Who knows when Owen will resurface but it'll be interesting to see what role he plays- and what side[s]. Is Momoa's character tied to ETEON- will he be the big reveal in X or H&S2 as The Director or other? Aside from the above mentioned with all to wrap up, what about the 'other' virus Locke mentions?

All eyes back on Han, and all that lies on his return. And, maybe lies about whatever else. His return to the light may spark more interest, perhaps force Mr. Nobody out of hiding as well. What his plans are with Deckard- who knows, but Owen should be worried, as vengeance for Gisele is on the horizon.

Jakob may have been redeemed at the end of The Fast Saga [9] but there are still too many loose ends. Will the new cast additions pack the 2-part finale leaving no room for the long lost Toretto or will he drift in to help his family one last time in Fast X or Furious XI?

Double-entendre title, whether Cipher can be redeemed and or will we see her not in 10 or 11 but a future spinoff? With another failed mission on her score card, would you like to see Cipher finally gain the upper hand in FastX or should she disappear forever? With Brie and Momoa being added to the cast of the 10th installment, plus all the other loose ends to tie up, is there room for Cipher to be the focus or should they use her in a spinoff?

Azia Dinea Hale played young Letty in The Fast Saga / F9 in the flashback race scene. I couldn't find any photos of her character on image search, what is going on?! James Wan directed Furious 7, in which we visit Letty's tombstone. It reads she was born in 1983. Dom was released from Lompoc in 1991 (after flashback incident in 1989). Letty was the one signaling for the race to start between Dominic and Jakob. She would've been about 8.  

In 'The Fast and the Furious' we learn Dom didn't fall for her until she was 16, around the time she took an interest in street racing. Let me know what you think in the comments. I think the flashback scenes were really well done but once we saw Letty I immediately thought back to the 1983 year!

Would be nice if he has a connection to any of our recent characters, good or bad. Perhaps a double-agent himself, working for (or the director of) Eteon?! Seems late in the franchise to introduce another villain, as we have Cipher, Eteon & perhaps Owen Shaw to deal with. But no matter what, I expect to see some slam-bangin', hard hitting fights! Are you excited that Jason is joining the Fast franchise? and what character or role would you like to see him play?

First movie I was expecting nothin' but cars racing but it impressed me being so much more! Here we are about 21 years later, and #Fast10 is on its way! Some bumps along the way which made us unsure of the franchise's future but even the first spinoff ignited a collab that would fuel so much more than we realized!  

The end of F4, when Dom is being transported to prison- and the team busts him out, I remember thinking 'please, please make a fifth installment just for me!' Not only did that happen but it took things to a whole 'nother level, and spawned multiple sequels.

Sure there's more depth in the movie but overall did anything else stand out, make an impact, even surprise you in The Fast Saga? I know some fans were speculating about how Han could have survived but the revelation was underwhelming, and incomplete- though I'm hoping they'll fully explain it in 10 or 11, having another character experience the same thing (hologram err..?)

Here's the setup: the reason Justin Lin brought Han back is because of the events of 'The Fate of the Furious' (directed by F. Gary Gray) in which Deckard is paired with the fast family to help track Dom, yet there seems to be little to no struggle given that he murdered Han. They simply move on, and of course at the end when Deckard delivers little Brian to Dom, they shake hands but no mention of Han.  

So, with that being said, this theory goes off of the fact that Han is alive in F9. Perhaps Lin is keeping a lid on everything Mr. Nobody's been up to so they can later reveal that Deckard was ordered to take out Han's car in order to keep him off the grid so he can protect Project Aries. Basically a reworking of the storylines. But maybe Deckard didn't know Han wasn't actually in the car. The fast family would buy the whole thing because they took down Deckard's brother, Owen. But again, maybe Nobody had everything already planned so Deckard thought Han was in the car, but bleh there are some options they can go with but I would love to hear from you.

Speculating about the link between Monica Fuentes, Agent Hobbs & Carter Verone. Last we saw Fuentes, she was working with Hobbs (Fast Five credit scene) but then we never heard from her again. While 6 got the Shaw-storyline going, perhaps they were considering bringing Verone and her back but abandoned the idea?   

If Hobbs is killed off screen, then I think the director of Eteon should be a reveal of someone we are already familiar with. Question will remain though: is Hobbs really dead? (you never know with this franchise) Though Brian and Rome took Carter down, maybe Luke Hobbs tried to do the same or even went after him following his release from prison (after 2Fast, before F5). And since we know Hobbs is connected to Monica... maybe there's something brewing for the two-part finale?
