The Opposite of The Last Supper - The First Kiki

Break out the Livestrong bracelets and Uggs because we're going back to middle school today! We're joined by one of the people Matt has known the longest in his life - the chaotic yet charming Gemini queen, Sarah. Since the age of 3, Matt and Sarah have been terrorizing suburbia with their queerness, even before they knew they were doing it. We talk about finding queer community at a young age, a lesbian teacher who was lowkey our biggest role model, and why you should never date someone on your high school softball team.

Why Hooking Up With "Straight" Guys Is The Worst

This week we sit down and delve into something... surprisingly deep. The thrill of hooking up with a "straight" guy is exciting and flattering when you're 18, but the older you get, the less appealing it becomes. Matt and Aaron dive into some of their past hookup experiences to discuss how being in different stages of life can be detrimental in relationships.

Being The Change You Want In The World with Owin Pierson

In this episode we sit down with advocate and social activist Owin Pierson to discuss his experience walking through the world as both queer and Asian-American. Since he began growing his social media following over five years ago, Owin has been heavily involved in major social movements, including attending Taiwan's celebrations for the legalization of gay marriage and (accidentally) becoming one of the faces of Instagram's guide to Stop Asian Hate. He opens up about a number of experiences that have shaped him into who he is today, and what prompted him to recently move to Hawaii. Owin also speaks on what he hopes to achieve with his platform, and how he believes we can actually enact change.

Let’s take a trip to the first place that comes to mind when you think of gay rights: Alabama! *lol* Mason is a southern twink - at least for a little bit longer - who has undoubtedly had a life that is quite different from those of Matt and Aaron. After peaking in middle school, Mason somehow ended up at the University of Alabama - which was... a time - before eventually finding community in Atlanta. HELLO ALL YOU SEXUAL DEVIANTS! Welcome back to season 2 of Queering the Air! We’re kicking off season 2 in the most exciting and personal way: delving into our OWN stories. To help us do that, we brought on long time friend of the pod, Remi Cruz (aka Remington, MissRemiAshten, RemLife). Remi is a podcasting professional - she has her own show, Pretty Basic, with her best friend Alisha Marie - so we figured she could give us some hosTing advice whilst grilling Aaron about what it was like growing up in a small town, how he never really had a coming out, and more. When you’re done listening, chat with us on Instagram and ask us what you wish you had learned about Aaron. GURL, You Made It Through 2020

That’s a wrap! Season 1 has come to a close and we’re wrapping it up with a big sappy bow. It's time to take a look back on one heck of a year, relive some of our favorite moments from this season, and also talk about what the future might hold. Starting this in July was scary, but more than anything it was exciting as hell and we’re so grateful you were here to join us for it. We'll be back with new episodes again on February 2nd. Until then, take a moment for yourself, reflect on what we all learned from the year, and give yourself the credit you deserve for making it through 2020. XOXO GOSSIP SQUIRRELS

The Trauma We All Inherited (Feat. Carson McCalley)

Events like the Aids Epidemic change the entire course of history and affect everyone - whether or not we realize it. This week we're joined by the incredibly bright, talented, and charming Carson McCalley, a 24 year old Carnegie Mellon graduate who finished his first run on Broadway right before the Covid Pandemic shut down New York in March. His show, The Inheritance, is nothing short of a revelation - just look at the 11 Tony Nominations it received. This year, we wanted to honor World Aids Day by doing what Carson hopes The Inheritance does for all of those who watch it; we sat down to discuss our own queerness and honor the generations before us who fought, suffered, died, and lived, affording us the opportunity to be where we are today.

Romy and Matt's High School Reunion

Milton Academy is something out of a telenovela Netflix show (think Elite) - it's also where Matt went to high school. Today we're joined by the incredible Ian Malone and Sydney Adedamola, who also attended Milton before going to Tufts and USC, respectively. What begins as a trip down memory lane turns into a discussion about being part of a minority group at a traditional, elite, institution of learning.
